Silvia Giustiniani
After attending the languages high school in Siena, I moved to Trieste, where I graduated from SSLMIT (Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators) in 2004. For my thesis, I chose the German translation of a children’s literature book by Janosch, an author who is just wild enough to intrigue readers who think outside the box.
I spent nine months in Vienna on an Erasmus placement, where I attended the Institut für Übersetzer und Dolmetscher.
After much experience as a speaker and interpreter during sports press conferences, I took a Master’s degree in Editorial and Technical Translation at the Agenzia Formativa Tuttoeuropa in Turin between 2004 and 2005, and I followed this with an internship at the ANCR (National Cinematographic Archives of the Resistance). This is where I moved into audiovisual translation and subtitles and started collaborating with the “Sottodiciotto Filmfestival” in Turin and GPStudio s.n.c. as an adapter for television series, cartoons and films for the small screen.
I am now one of the three partners of Words in Progress S.r.l., together with Bruno and Cristina.
